His born name is Rene Karl Wilhelm Johann Joseph Maria Rilke. His mother had wanted a baby girl, and Rainer blames his mother for his dark childhood. His father sent him to a military academy when he was ten. He then attended business school, and started writing poems at age 19. He had many lovers throughout his life. In 1901 he married Klara Westoff. Seven months later they had a daughter Ruth. The marriage only lasted about a year until they separated. Rainer had many affairs, then would write passionate poems. But he would never get too close to his lovers. Rilke died December 29th, 1926. But his leukemia isn’t what killed him, he had gotten an infection by a cut from a rose thorn

Suddenly, from all the green around you, something-you don't know what-has disappeared; you feel it creeping closer to the window, in total silence. From the nearby wood
you hear the urgent whistling of a plover, reminding you of someone's Saint Jerome: so much solitude and passion come from that one voice, whose fierce request the downpour
will grant. The walls, with their ancient portraits, glide away from us, cautiously, as though they weren't sup... ? Continue reading...

For it is not inertia alone that is responsible for human relationships repeating themselves from case to case, indescribably monotonous and unrenewed: it is shyness before any sort of ne... Simply she stands at the cathedral’s great ascent, close to the rose window, with the apple in the apple-pose, guiltless-guilty once and for all
of the growing she gave birth to since form the circle of eternities loving she went forth, top struggle through her way throughout the earth like a young year.
Ah, gladly yet a little in that land Would she have lingered, heeding the harmony And understanding of the animals.
But since she found the man determined, She went with him, aspiring after death, A... Continue reading...

My wordle for Girl In Love by Rainer Maria Rilke shows the key words that create the poem. Love, Stars and fearing stand out to me and helps me better understand the poem. The poem describes the confusion of night and day and time, which is like when you are in love. Everything else seems to be less important. The description of how the heart feels is my favorite because i can imagine the heart feeling so light and free. "Within anouther I" i think is saying that the person that you love kno...
